The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity. Officially got too impatient for their new album Seventh Secular Crusade to be available here on bandcamp so hoping this album plus the couple new albums (to me) I recently bought will keep distracted enough until I can buy that too. Swedish Melodic Black Metal just has that sound. Glad my Dissection and Sacramentum albums finally have some company.
